500th Church Takes Up Insurance Offer

Five hundred churches have now taken up a special deal to purchase a SelectaDNA Church kit offered by Trinitas Church Insurance Services.

The 500th church to take up the offer belonged to a group of churches in Ashford, Kent. The whole group has insured with Trinitas.

SelectaDNA joined forces with Trinitas in 2017 and the specialist insurance policy has been developed to meet the typical needs of Church of England parishes for buildings, contents and liability risks associated with parish activities.

Criminals tend to target isolated sites and hard-to-protect buildings such as churches looking for easily sold items such as lead, copper and other valuable metals.

SelectaDNA marks and identifies these metals and other outdoor materials to help protect against theft and burglary. The Church kit can mark and protect up to 150 pieces of valuable and vital metal infrastructure such as lead roofs, lightning conductors and drain pipes. Each kit consists of an aerosol containing a unique forensic signature and uses warning signs to alert criminals that the property is protected.
