French political magazine L’Express ran a story about SelectaDNA Tagging Spray being used to supplement the tear gas and water cannons deployed by French police when the recent ‘Yellow Vest’ protests in Paris took a violent turn.
The use of the spray, which is odorless and colourless was announced by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe as part of a package of measures to halt further crime from the rioters and looters who took the opportunity to join the protests.
The spray contains UV markers which sit on skin and clothing (even after washing) to help police identify rioters even weeks after the event.
