SelectaDNA technology played a key role in the Metropolitan Police’s successful crackdown on a highly organised shoplifting gang that had been operating across South West London.
This targeted enforcement led to 15 arrests and the recovery of over £150,000 worth of stolen supermarket goods – showcasing the power and precision of forensic marking in action.
The operation was part of a wider initiative to prevent and disrupt organised retail crime, in which more than 5,000 high-risk items were marked using SelectaDNA stock marking solutions. Our uniquely coded forensic markers enabled officers to identify stolen goods, providing crucial evidence to support arrests and ongoing investigations.
Our technology was deployed in partnership with several major retailers, each receiving a bespoke solution based on their specific risks and challenges.
