Andrew Knights Appointed As Managing Director

SELECTAMARK is delighted to announce that Andrew Knights has been appointed as Managing Director, following the retirement of previous MD Chris Taylor after 15 years service.

Andrew's new role includes promoting the company's unique SelectaDNA forensic marking product range, which has already proved highly successful as a theft deterrent in property marking schemes across the UK and Europe, reducing theft by up to 85% in some areas.

Andrew has extensive experience in the security industry, having run the market-leading Smokecloak business for over 10 years. He was also former MD at Cooper Security and Castle Care Tech, two of the UK's leading intruder product manufacturers.

Apart from his managerial roles, Andrew has been very active in security industry trade associations and is currently a council member of the BSIA, a section member of the Security Equipment Manufacturers, and a member of the Export Council.

As a former chairman of the Export Council, Andrew has represented the UK on several overseas missions and events. He has also worked on many technical committees and served as the technical expert on BSI GW1/2.

Andrew has a degree in business studies from Kingston University and an MBA from the University of Bath.

Jim Brown, chairman of Selectamark, said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Knights as our MD. I have known Andrew for many years as a man of great integrity who has been very successful in the security industry.

“We have travelled to many exhibitions together supported by the BSIA which has included a visit to Dubai with HRH Prince Michael of Kent, who is the Patron of the Export Council of the BSIA. I know that Andrew will bring to the company many new ideas for the continual expansion of the business.”
